Camp Wahsega

Trey spent June 2nd-6th at Camp Wahsega 4H Center.  I am super, duper proud of my terrified of heights Trey for stretching his wings, getting out of his comfort zone, and trying new things while at camp. He not only did the rock wall, but also conquered the zip line and the flying squirrel!  These photos are a collection from counselors and volunteers at camp and are in no particular order.

More May Happenings

May was a super busy month with lots of end of school and hello summer fun!



We had our last 4H meeting of the year and the kids received awards for their activities throughout the year.
Trey participated in Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging, Robotics Club, and CPA/DPA.

Trey attended Nicholas' 13th birthday party on May 12th.

The boys found this yellow bellied slider which Trey is convinced is our old one that we let go about a year or so ago.

Trey attended a Boy Scouts campout on May 16th.

We played the Wii at the hospital while visiting our sweet friend Mason.  He had emergency surgery on May 27th and had a terrible time recovering.  We wound up visiting him at a second hospital about two weeks later.  We are thankful that he is all mended now!

Summer Waves

On May 27th we traveled to Jekyll Island's Summer Waves for the 4H reward trip for the 2013-2014 year!  We love Summer Waves and always have a blast and being there with our friends made it even better!  This is the second year that we have gone on the Tuesday after Memorial Day and we have decided that it really is the best time to go.  The crowds are gone, and you can enjoy the slides, wavepool, and lazy river without being crushed!  It is awesome!

Spring Break: Medieval Times Atlanta

G'ma Gwen always treats the grands (and us Mamas) to a special trip in April.  For this year's trip we went with our homeschool 4H club to see Medieval Times in Atlanta on April 12th.  Since we were going with 4H on 4H day we got treated to a special behind the scenes tour.  It was absolutely awesome!  What was even more awesome was the wonderful customer service we received from Medieval Times.  G'ma's loaded down suburban pulled out at 9am sharp, in plenty of time to make it to the 2:30 show.  Unfortunately, it was not to be for us to make it to the 2:30 show.  For some reason, God did not want us to leave Madison, GA, and He blocked every path out of the city until He was ready for us to leave.  I don't know why, but I do know that He was protecting us and am very thankful for His protection.  Our extra long trip started off very well as we traveled up 441 to Madison and planned to get on I-20 to travel into Lawrenceville.  However there was a bad accident or something on the interstate and we didn't even make it a 1/4 of a mile in the 45 minutes or so that we were on the interstate.  We turned around and took another road towards Lawrenceville.  This time we made it four or five miles before we were once again forced to turn around due to a bad accident or something.  At this point, we knew we would never make it on time, so I called Medieval Times and they very graciously changed our part of the reservations (everyone else in our group was already there) to the 5:30 show.  When we arrived, they were just starting the behind the scenes tour and they sent someone out to the ticket window to escort us back so that we could take part in the tour.  It really was the best part of our trip and I am so thankful that they made sure we got to participate!  After our tour, we settled in for the dinner and the show, both of which were fabulous!  Although it took us over 7 hours to get to Medieval Times, it was all worth it to see the excitement on the kids' faces!  And thankfully, it only took us a little over 3 hours to get home!
