Spring Break: Jekyll Island

On Thursday, April 3, 2014 we took our second spring break day trip to Jekyll Island.  I love this little secluded beach!  It is a little bit of a walk to get there, and it can be tough climbing over the sand dune with a cooler, but it is very much worth it to sit on a fairly empty and clean beach!  We went with our good friends, Stephanie and Payton, and it was a pretty prefect day...great weather, porpoises swimming close to the shore, plenty of sand fun, and lots of water fun!

Seven!

Today Jesse turns 7!  How is that possible?!?!  Here’s a look at some of the fun I’ve had this spring with the best almost seven year old I know!!!

Our last summer hurrah…

Summer vacation is drawing to a close.  I can hardly believe it!  It has gone by incredibly fast!  I return to school on Monday and the boys return the following Monday.  Where has the summer gone?!?  Weeks ago I promised the boys a trip to Summer Waves before school started and since this is my last week off, it was do or die time.  And.  The weather hasn’t been the greatest.  I was worried that we weren’t going to make it.  But we did.  Yesterday we spent the whole day at Summer Waves…riding the lazy river, sloshing about the wave pool, careening down the slides, and having loads of fun!  It was a wonderful day spent in the company of my boys and my mama.  The clouds kept a lot of people at home so it wasn’t very crowded and by lunch you could see lots of blue sky and sunshine!  It was a perfect way to send out summer vacation!

Last time we visited summer waves, I killed my camera on the first water slide.  Following that trip I bought a water proof camera.  I don’t use that camera much anymore, but yesterday it definitely got it’s water proofness test.  And it passed with flying colors!
