A little basketball, a little football

February 11th brought us to our last basketball game of the season!  We started the day with Jesse’s game at 8:30.

   

After the game, there was a short awards ceremony.

Then it was time for Trey’s game.

After basketball, it was time to head to the football field for our church’s 2nd annual flag football tournament!

Jesse enjoyed the food and hot chocolate while Trey worked in the concession stand.

It was a super busy, and super fun morning!  And the afternoon would hold even more fun…Hinson’s 2nd birthday party!  Stay tuned!

More from Trey’s Birthday Week

We began our week of celebrating Trey’s DECADE birthday with our monthly celebration of birthdays at church on February 1st!

My baby is growing up and has outgrown “kiddie” birthday parties.  Sniff.  Sniff.  All he really wants is his best friend to come over and for all of us to hang out at the arcade.  It’s what we did last year.  It’s what we did this year.  And.  Trey says it’s what we’re going to do EVERY year until he’s very old!

The Friday before Trey’s birthday we picked Mason up as soon as school was over and headed home to play and wait on Daddy.  Daddy came home and we were ready to head to Village for pizza and arcade games but first we had to tear the boys away from the video games.

 

Trey’s favorite game has long been this racing game.  He thinks that it’s teaching him how to drive!

The boys spent a total of about 7 minutes actually sitting in the booth…just long enough to chow down on the pizza when it arrived.  As soon as they were done it was back to the game room.

After pizza, it was time for ice cream at the DQ!

We had to be up bright and early the next morning for Upwards Basketball.  (Jesse’s games were at 8:40 every Saturday for 8 weeks!)

After the boys’ games were over we headed to DQ  to celebrate the birthday boy with Grandma, Da, Daddy, Aunt Janie, Uncle Cory, Cora Jane, Vera Kate, and Whitman!  More sugar and more fun!!!

    

Trey is one blessed little big boy that has so many people who love him and want to celebrate all of life’s milestones with him.  And this birthday was a big one.  A DECADE!  I still can’t believe it!  We are thankful for all of our family and friends that helped Trey (& us) celebrate!

Our last day of 2011

We spent the last day of 2011 playing a little basketball, enjoying good food at a family reunion, a quick trip to the ER, and finally more eating, fireworks, board games, and fun with our church family.  It was a perfect day…well, except for the ER trip;-)

This past Wednesday, the warehouse that my hubby and his brother operate their hay business out of burned for the second time.  During the course of the fire, my Philip received 2nd degree burns to both hands and arms.  While changing his bandages before heading to the New Year’s Eve party, we noticed that one of his arms looked swollen and inflamed.  Worried about possible infection, we dropped the boys at the party and  headed to the ER.  Thankfully, the ER doctor said that he saw no signs of infection and sent us home.   So we headed to the party…a night spent laughing with friends was just what this girl needed after a stressful week!
