More May Happenings

May was a super busy month with lots of end of school and hello summer fun!



We had our last 4H meeting of the year and the kids received awards for their activities throughout the year.
Trey participated in Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging, Robotics Club, and CPA/DPA.

Trey attended Nicholas' 13th birthday party on May 12th.

The boys found this yellow bellied slider which Trey is convinced is our old one that we let go about a year or so ago.

Trey attended a Boy Scouts campout on May 16th.

We played the Wii at the hospital while visiting our sweet friend Mason.  He had emergency surgery on May 27th and had a terrible time recovering.  We wound up visiting him at a second hospital about two weeks later.  We are thankful that he is all mended now!

On May 30th Zach and Xavier came to play with Jesse.
They had a great time playing with the sidewalk chalk!

We also had a lot of fun attempting to make balloon animals!

 

We had a lot of fun in May!  I am thankful for all the memories made!

Movin' On Up!

On May 6th the boys donned their full Scout uniforms for their "Movin' On Up" ceremony!  Jesse graduated from Wolf to Bear, and Trey received his Tenderfoot ranking as well as his first two merit badges!

Our Boy Scout Troop grew with lots of new promotions and had to be divided into two patrols, the Grizzlies and the Ravens.

The Cub Scouts received the Journey to Excellence Award for the 2013-2014 year.

Truth Be Told Art with the Scouts

On May 3rd both the Girl Scouts and the Cub/Boy Scouts hosted Truth Be Told Art parties!  You know we love TBTA in our house and we love the artist who comes to our area so of course I had to attend both of them.  I painted that morning with the Girl Scouts and then went home and got the boys to paint that afternoon.  I had originally not planned to paint in the afternoon, but our wonderful artist decided to not only paint a  camouflage tree with the boys but to also paint the "Blessings" design with the Mamas.  I had been wanting to paint it so I couldn't resist!

April Snapshot

Life on the farm is never dull!  Jesse built a birdhouse to complete his Wolf Patch requirements and was so excited to get it hung up just in time for spring nesting!  We also added Bandit the donkey to our menagerie, as well as a family of brier goats.  Hershey didn't like the donkey at all at first, but warmed up after the new goats arrived.

The boys volunteered at our area Special Olympics on April 11th.

Soccer, soccer, and more soccer!  These are from our April 26th game.

After our April 26th soccer game, we headed over to the Day of the Child event at the park to help represent the Cub Scouts!

April 26th was also the annual Cub Scout/Boy Scout Pinewood Derby!  It was our first ever race and we had a blast!
