A little over 8 1/2 years ago my life was changed forever. I became a mommy and set off on the greatest adventure of my life. Today, Trey’s life was changed forever for on this day Trey committed to live his life for our Lord and Savior and was baptized. To say that I am one proud Mommy would be a major understatement. Here is how I described it a few weeks ago when I shared the good news with our family and friends…
A few months ago, Trey decided that he was too big to say prayers with Mama at night time. He wanted his private time with God and I respected his wishes. Since then his bedtime routine has been to get in bed, read his Bible, & say his prayers before going to sleep. During this time a couple of weeks ago he made the biggest decision of his life. He came out of his room & told me that while he was praying that he asked Jesus into his heart. I can't adequately express the emotion that welled up inside me knowing that my baby had taken Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I'll just say that it FAR surpassed any pride or happiness that I have experienced through the years as he has reached any other milestone in his life…
This morning our family and friends gathered at Pine Level FWB Church to watch as Trey took this step in his Christian walk. To honor Trey on this day, his Daddy sang him a special song just before the baptism. The hymn he chose is an old favorite but it’s not a traditional baptismal song. Phil began singing this song to Trey very early in his life each night as he gave him his bath. It is very much their song.
Finally, it was time for the baptism. Trey was very excited!
Afterwards, many of our family and friends gathered at our home to eat lunch and celebrate Trey’s special day. I spent the afternoon enjoying the fellowship of our company and did NOT rush around taking a ton of pictures. Shocking I know. However, I did manage to capture a few of the youngins while they were playing.

What a wonderful day we had! Thank you Lord for our wonderful family and friends that shared our day. And thank you Lord for the precious gift of Trey. We pray that he will always follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and keep You first in his heart and his life.
As he preached he said, "The real action comes next: The star in this drama, to whom I'm a mere stagehand, will change your life. I'm baptizing you here in the river, turning your old life in for a kingdom life. His baptism—a holy baptism by the Holy Spirit—will change you from the inside out." Mark 1:7-8
