Memorial Day Celebration 2014

One of my favorite holidays is Memorial Day.  That may be a strange favorite for some, but it is one of my favorites because Memorial Day means it's time for our big family get together at Aunt Dot and Uncle Kirby's!  We gathered early on the Saturday before Memorial Day and spent a fun day playing in the sun, enjoying each other's company, and indulging in some yummy bbq and other treats!

Memorial Day is all about family time for us and I love these kiddos and all their siblings so much!

The zip line is a favorite for all the kids!

As the adults were packing up and saying good-bye, the kids came up with one final game! 

Baby Shower for Rosie

We had another reason to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.  My cousin, Mary, was expecting baby number two, a little girl named Rosemary Nell.  Which meant that my Aunt Dorothy Nell was expecting her first granddaughter.  A baby shower was in order…flamingo style.

Our gift.  When I saw it with its big flowers and bright colors, I instantly thought of Grandma Lorene.  It was perfect!

 

Mandy revealed that she has inherited the sewing gene.  She made this beautiful diaper bag!

Mama designed the flamingo and Aunt Dot created it!

Memorial Day 2012

The Saturday before Memorial Day we gathered at Aunt Dot & Uncle Kirby’s home for a big family celebration!   I adore getting together with my family and catching up.  For the boys, the best thing about Aunt Dot’s is all the kids that are available to play with.  I just love watching all of them play and reminiscing.

 

We had a busy, fun-filled day and made lots of memories!  However, we missed our Daddy terribly and we were very happy to get home to him on Sunday afternoon!
