Arise My Love Shadow Drama

On Youth Sunday our S.H.I.N.E. group performed an amazing shadow drama to Arise my Love!  They all did a fabulous job and performed it again in front of a packed house at First Baptist Church's Talent and Testimony night.  It was/is extremely moving and I get tears in my eyes every time I watch it.

Trey is the guard on the right.  This is the scene where the ground is trembling and the stone is being rolled away.  I think he did a fabulous job!

It's hard to read the sign in the video, but in person there was no mistaking Holy Bible!  It definitely made a powerful impact!

 

How Great Thou Art

Pine Level held a fifth Sunday night sing on March 30, 2014.  Trey played and sang How Great Thou Art, although you have to listen very carefully to hear him singing.  I am so proud of how far he has come and I am even more proud that he loves to use his talent to praise our great God!  Thankful for my blessings!

NYC Awards Ceremony, Part 2

Here is the second song that the children's choir sang. Trey is in the front this time because he had a short solo!!! We are so proud of him!!! He did a great job and if he was nervous you couldn't tell it! I don't know exactly how many people were in the audience but it was well over 1,000! You couldn't have drug me on stage in front of that many people when I was Trey's age (or now either for that matter!) He definitely didn't get his stage presence from his Mama!  I am so proud of both my boys for getting up on that stage and enthusiastically sharing their love for God!!!  Watching Him work in them is one of my greatest joys and nothing melts my heart faster than hearing one of my boys spontaneously start singing their favorite songs that they have learned at church!

NYC Awards Ceremony, Part 1

Our last night in Memphis we attended the National Youth Competition Awards Ceremony.  The night kicked off with a children's choir comprised of children who were attending the convention from all over the country.  They only practiced 3 or 4 times and they did AWESOME!!!  Trey and Jesse particpated with the choir and we are so, so proud of them!  Jesse is in the front row, behind the microphone, in the blue and brown striped shirt and white shorts.  Trey is towards the back behind Jesse in the red long sleeved shirt and the black and red striped shirt.

Old Fashion Sunday

Our children always treat us with some old fashion singing on Old Fashion Sunday. I didn't get video of our littlest ones singing, but they were just too precious not to share a photo!

"These Are the Days of Elijah" is one of Trey's favorite songs. Anytime you ask for song requests, this is the first one on his list!

Pray, Daniel, Pray!

One of Jesse's favorite songs is "Praying Man". He is so cute with his facial expressions when he is singing it too! "Praying Man" is one of the songs that our older children's choir, God's Musicians, sings. About six weeks ago, Jesse moved up to this choir and Grandparents Sunday was the first time he had gotten to perform with them. He was so excited that "Praying Man" was one of the songs that they were singing! And he did a fantastic job, as did all the kids:-)

Thankful Thursday: Jesus Loves Me

Sunday, September 11th was Grandparents Day. We love all of our grandparents and are extremely thankful to have them all in our lives!!! To commerate the special day our children sang a special version of Jesus Loves Me. It was too cute & I just had to share!

A Big Thank You!

A lot went into getting our children to state and national CTS competition. Money had to be raised. LOTS and LOTS of practice questions had to be written. Practice competitions had to be held. It was a year full of hard work that took the entire church! So on July 31st, during our evening service, our children hosted a special service and fellowship meal to thank the members of the church for all their help and support over the past year. All of the children wrote thank you notes to the church members and several of them read them aloud during the service. Trey read his. And of course he had to put his very own Trey spin on it! It was so cute!!!

I am Thankful for Grandparents...

The hubby and I were blessed with some amazing parents. Which means? That our boys have been blessed with some amazing grandparents. On Sunday, September 12, 2010, we honored all the grandparents at church with a special sing. As always, the kids did an awesome job. Thank you Papa & Ah-ee, Grandma & Da, and Papa Richard for all that you do for us and our boys. We are all very blessed to have you in our lives.

I am thankful for these little ones & the big ones too...

Last Sunday, November 7, 2010 was Homecoming at Pine Level FWB Church. To celebrate this special day, we had a song service at 10:00a.m. featuring several of our talented singers, our adult choir, and all of our children's choirs. Our children never cease to amaze me. Not only do we have some talented youth in our midst, but their love for our Lord always comes shining through as they sing their praises unto Him!

Our Joyful Noiz Choir consists of our youngest children. Each week Mrs. Jessica, along with several others who always pitch in to help, lead these little ones in song and praise. I have been blessed to sit in during their weekly song fests and I know that we have some awesome singers coming up. However, getting in front of an audience always makes them nervous and they don't belt out their songs on stage the way they do on Wednesday night. Homecoming Sunday they all stayed on stage the WHOLE time and that is a big step for them. A few of them even danced. And it was such a blessing to watch them. I am very thankful for Mrs. Jessica and the time she gives and dedication that she has to these little ones. And I am thankful for each one of these little ones, and for their love for our Lord.

God's Musicians is comprised of our medium sized kiddos. They are led each Wednesday night by Mrs. Lora and I am so thankful that our youth have her. I am always blessed to hear our littlest ones sing. Their joy and exuberance bring a smile to my face every time. But I am MOVED when God's Musicians take the stage. They are accompanied by music but they do NOT have voice accompaniment. These strong, clear voices of praise are all our kiddos. When they sing you can feel the Holy Spirit moving in our midst. It is powerful stuff. And it brings tears to my eyes.

I simply can not do a post about how thankful I am for all these kids and the people from Pine Level who dedicate their time to working with them and not mention Mrs. Kay. It would take pages to list all the things that Mrs. Kay does for our kids at church. She and Mr. Pete are simply amazing and we are all very blessed to have them!

Gold Belt

Two weeks ago (September 11, 2010) Trey went for his second belt test in his martial arts training. He had to do his basics and his forms, break a board with a punch and another one with a kick, and spar! I thought he performed very well and he broke both the boards. In fact, he broke the board with his punch so fast that I didn’t even have time to get my camera out (but luckily another Mama did)! But we had to wait two whole weeks to find out if he’d passed and become a GOLD BELT.

Yesterday, at the beginning of class, Master Perkins held the belt ceremony. And. TREY PASSED!!! We are all so very proud of him! And Jesse. Well, he can’t wait to get started in martial arts too! Once class started yesterday, Jesse stood in the back of the room and imitated EVERYTHING that the students were doing. He’s going to be my second karate kid one day soon!

Father’s Day 2010

Father's Day 2010 arrived and with it the children's choirs annual performance for the Dads. Jesse was being fussy, whiny, clingy and absolutely refused to go on stage. And I was keeping the nursery so I missed the live performance. But I know it was fabulous as always!

Blueberry Festival Gospel Sing

On June 1st our children's choirs were asked to participate in the annual Blueberry Festival Gospel Sing. Children from two other local churches joined our children to sing two songs. While they had musical accompaniment, the singing is all them and they did an amazing job!!! The love these children show to our Lord is truly awesome!

God is so good to give us these precious gifts! We give Him all the glory!

Youth Sunday 2010

Sunday, April 25th was Youth Sunday at Pine Level FWB Church. The children did almost everything during the service and did an outstanding job! Not only did all of our children's choirs sing, but many of the children stood up to give their testimony as to why they enjoyed camp last year. As Camper of the Year last year, Trey was the first one to speak. The children will be heading to camp again in 3 short weeks. And I'm not any more ready for it this year than I was last year! Please keep them all in your prayers for a safe, fun-filled, and most importantly God-filled week and that God will bring them all home to us safe and sound:-)

ACA's 3rd Annual Auction

February 20, 2010 we attended ACA's 3rd Annual Auction and we have photos, videos, and a YouTube photo montage to commemorate it! The auction is our school's biggest fundraiser and showcases artwork done by each class. It is a wonderful opportunity to visit with other parents and see what our kids have been up to! We get to enjoy a fabulous meal, wonderful entertainment, and awesome artwork done by our kiddies all in the company of family and friends! A while back, I shared with you that the even number grades were busy painting their quilt squares. Once again, the quilts turned out fantastic and as always sold for mega bucks! I will have to content myself with photos of Trey's class quilt...however, I didn't walk away empty handed this year...
