So after the church egg hunt, we took a break from the Easter festivities to celebrate our good friend's, Caine, birthday at the bowling alley. This was the first time my boys had been bowling and they had a blast. And just so you know...and it's here in blogdom for all eternity...I came thisclose to beating Phil...I even got a strike!!!

Egg Hunt, Take One: Hunting Eggs at the Church

The Saturday before Easter we attended our annual church egg hunt.

I saved the best for last...these are my favorites! Jesse's birthday was only 3 days away and I wanted some good birthday pictures. If only I could get rid of the fence in the background! Turns out I needn't of worried...I got some AWESOME pictures on his birthday (but that's another post!)

Adventures in food coloring...

Easter weekend is always a busy time for us and this year was no exception! We started on Friday night coloring eggs, and a birthday party, a trip to church to play hand bells and release butterflies, a big lunch, and THREE egg hunts later we were done! So naturally there are lots of pictures. To many to put into one post...so the next several posts will be our Easter weekend in pictures (mostly anyway!).

Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy

Last week, while Daddy and Trey went to his first ballgame, Jesse and I joined Grandma Gwen, Aunt Janie, Cora Jane, Vera Kate, and Whitman in Jacksonville for Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy. Worlds of Fantasy features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald, as well as Cars, Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Tinkerbell. Jesse's mouth dropped open when the Cars started coming out and it remained open pretty much the whole time. He enjoyed the whole thing...even the long second half which was all about Tink!

Batter, Batter, BASEBALL!!!

Trey is playing baseball for the first time this year. (For now, I am using the term "playing" very loosely!) You see it's like this, did I mention that Trey is playing for the very, very first time?! And he is VERY EXCITED to be playing! However, most of the kids on his team have been playing for a few years already and have gotten all the "playing in the dirt and dancing around in the outfield" type stuff out of their system by now. Also, Trey is one of the youngest boys on his team. He plays with the 7/8 year old Boys Flea League. You have to be 7 by May 1st to play in this age group and Trey just turned 7 in February. Many of his teammates will be 9 this summer! So he has a lot to learn. Which has not been easy with the lousy weather we're having this spring. We've had several practices and two scrimmage games canceled because of rain! But we have been VERY BLESSED with VERY PATIENT coaches and he is learning! He even got a "HOME RUN" (again I'm using the term very loosely) during a scrimmage game a couple of weeks ago! Unfortunately, Mommy missed it because I was at Jesse's birthday party:-( He's also learning teamwork! This past week he had his first game. On the same day that we had tickets for Disney on Ice. We left the decision up to him and he instantly said that he wanted to go his game because after all it was his VERY FIRST game and he didn't want to let his team mates down. What a kid! Mommy, however, was VERY SAD that I missed Trey's very FIRST game because I was having a wonderful time at Disney on Ice with Jesse and the family. But I will be there next time, camera in hand!
