Friday, June 12th brought us to the Finale Show of Crocodile Dock. The kids worked hard all week and put on a fabulous show. Jesse, however, suffered some stage fright and while he spent some time on stage singing, he mainly stayed in the pews with Daddy. Although he did sing the songs from there.
During the week, the girls battled the boys to see who could bring in the most money to give to one of our missionaries from Japan. It was a close race, but the girls came out on top!
Since the girls won, Mrs. Lora got to give Bro. Eric a pie in the face!
I must really hand it to the men who told the Bible Story each night. They did a fabulous job of making it hands on and entertained all the kids. Trey said it was his favorite part every night.
On Wednesday night, Mr. Phillip Murphy, superintendent of our school system and former NASA employee came and talked to the kids about the shuttle program. It was a very good talk, and Trey and I enjoyed it immensely. Jesse not so much:-) The funny side of this is that I can remember that when I was in first grade Mr. Murphy came and talked with us too.
He demonstrated that you can heat up one of the tiles on the shuttle until it is glowing red, but that no heat will make it through to the back, therefore protecting the shuttle. It also dissipates heat very rapidly.
