Our Spring Break

Whew!!! We are finally done with all the Easter posts:-) As I said here, Good Friday was the beginning of our spring break and what a wonderful beginning it was!!! We had a fabulous time coloring eggs, visiting with family, swimming, egg hunting, egg hunting, and egg hunting! It was a wonderful weekend filled with fun and celebrating the true meaning of Easter, our Lord and Saviour, who went to Calvary on that Good Friday, died so that we might all be saved, and rose again on that glorious first Easter morning! After all that celebrating and fun, you might think that we took the rest off the week off and rested...NOT! We had a busy, fun filled week, and by the following weekend I was ready to head back to school so that I could get some rest! Here are a few of the highlights!

Monday, Ah-ee and I took the boys to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D. It was an awesome movie that both boys (and Ah-ee and I) loved!!! And since...they have been obsessed with all things dragon!!! The boys still had some gift cards from their birthday party a few weeks ago, and as soon as we left the movie they were ready to spend them! So we headed straight to WalMart to get some dragon gear! Trey got the HTTYD DS game and some HTTYD books, while Jesse got a huge stuffed "Deadly Nadar" and a big red bouncy ball! Since then we've added half a dozen dragons from MickeyD's Happy Meals, as well as p.j.s. My boys now love them some dragons!!!

Tuesday was a slip 'n slide kind of day! We headed to Papa and Ah-ee's to set up the slip 'n slide and play with our new water guns. Then we ended the day frying up the fish that the boys had caught at the creek on Sunday afternoon! Yummy!!!

Wednesday night we celebrated April birthdays at church. Jesse was one of the birthday kiddies and he was soooooo very excited!

We had chocolate cupcakes and Jesse THOROUGHLY enjoyed his!

Thursday Mommy got a break. Yea!!! Daddy and Da took the boys fishing off the coast of St. Simon's Island. And they headed out early...like before the sun rises early!!! They had a blast and came home tuckered out and ready for bed! And Mommy. Well, she THOROUGHLY enjoyed her day to herself!

And that is only the beginning. Friday and Saturday were also busy days filled with lots of family and lots of fun. But that's another post, or three:-)

A Whole Lotta Eggs!!!

After lots of beautiful music and a powerful Easter sermon at church, we headed over to Papa and Ah-ee's to hunt eggs with Hinson! Okay, okay, Hinson didn't actually hunt any eggs. But it was his very first Easter and we had to celebrate it in a big way! Everyone was excited about the egg hunt and we wound up with over 200 eggs hidden! However, before the eggs could be hunted we had to take some family photos! Priorities you know:-)

Ah-ee has the most beautiful yard for hunting eggs (& pretty much taking any photos) and the most hiding places too! Can you see all the eggs on the wall of the fountain?

For the second year in a row, we have been blessed to have my Uncle Van with us for Easter. This year he had some friends with him who had two young boys. We thought that they would help hunt eggs. Instead they kept re-hiding the found eggs! My boys didn't mind though...they were having lots of fun locating the tons of eggs!

Chocolate bunnies, movies, chocolate candy, coloring books, chocolate candy, flashlights for camping, chocolate candy, puzzles, choclate candy, Super Mario Brothers, and did I mention chocolate candy...oh my, the Easter Bunny was extremely good to the boys this year!!!

In March, we had our spring pictures at school. We have a new school photographer this year and he decided to change things up and take our spring pictures outside. I must say that I am very pleased with the results!!!

Tyre Family Egg Hunt

So after Egg Hunt Number Two at our church, at which both our boys were extremely fussy, irritable, and uncooperative, we went home and they both took LONG naps. Once they woke up, they were in much better spirits and ready to tackle Egg Hunt Number Three! Well, actually they were kind of over the egg hunting by now. However, they were more than ready to head out to Grandma and Da's and tackle the pool!!! We only had a couple of dozen eggs for the five kiddies to hunt, so it didn't take long at all. But they really didn't care...it was a struggle to keep them in their clothes as long as we did! We got some cute photos, they found the eggs, and then they hit the pool!

What's in the eggs???

We tried this technique last year and the photo turned out so cute that we thought we'd try it again. Sadly, the kiddos were not nearly as cooperative this year (remember they were absolutely dying to get on their swimsuits and jump in the pool), but I still think we got a couple of cute shots!

We topped off the evening with grilled steaks and birthday cake for my brother-in-law. I don't think anyone enjoyed the cake as much as my nephew though!
