At some point on the Saturday before Easter, we were all in the van going somewhere, and Trey pipes up and says, "The Easter bunny can't be a real bunny cause a real bunny couldn't get in the house and get up on the table to leave the stuff. It must just be someone dressed in a bunny costume." I tell you, he's
always thinking! So we're having this conversation about Mr. Bunny and what he may or may not be, when hubby decides to be funny (at least in his book) and say something about there being a big bunny with big teeth which totally terrifies Jesse who no longer wants Mr. Bunny coming to our house. He actually asked me to call Mr. Bunny and tell him not to come! Hubby is in BIG trouble at this point!!! So we talk about Mr. Bunny and about how nice he is, and how he brings candy and toys to put in the Easter baskets. Jesse is still not convinced, but goes along with the whole thing for the time being and hubby is still in BIG trouble!
Fast forward to Sunday morning...Trey is up at 6:30, bouncing off the walls. But we quarantine him in the back and won't let him peek until Jesse wakes up. Which is a looooong two hours later! So it's about 8:30, and I'm dozing on the couch waiting on Jesse, and he sneaks up on me. I open my eyes, and he's right in my face, saying, "I thought you said the Easter bunny was going to bring me candy and toys in my basket." He'd walked right past the dining room table, and the baskets and hadn't even noticed. Once he saw his basket...well all fears of Mr. Bunny were gone!

So after the boys tear apart their baskets, and sneak a few pieces of candy (Trey's chocolate bunny didn't last long;-) it's time to get dressed and head to church. Easter Sunday at church is busy too. First, the children's hand bell choir performs,
Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross.

Next the children have a small Easter party during children's church.
Then it's time to release the butterflies! Our preacher orders and hands out caterpillars to all members of the congregation 3-4 weeks before Easter. We take the caterpillars home and watch them grow and transform into butterflies. The boys love it! Jesse was so happy to see the butterflies out of the box.

However, this is him when the butterflies flew away!
