My three boys spent all day Saturday and all day Sunday at the coast fishing. They got home late Sunday night…tired, burnt, very dirty, and happy. You would think that they were ready to sleep in Monday morning. But what did we do instead? Go fishing, of course!
We are still raising money for our CTS competition teams to go to national competition this summer. Towards this end we’re having a fish fry fundraiser Friday night. To have a fish fry we needed some fish, so our church gathered together early Memorial Day morning for a fishing rodeo!
All morning Jesse kept asking us if we were going to get some, “Giant, ALIVE worms?” His southern accent cracks me up at times. Once we got to the pond, Jesse couldn’t wait to dig into the worms. And Kate? Well, Kate was just fascinated by those wiggly, squiggly things. She kept saying, “I see? I see?” and making Jesse take the lid off. Once she’d see them she’d say, “Ohhhhh, snake!” And while she wanted to look at them, she DID NOT want to touch them!
We got off to a slow start but finally started catching some brim! Check out Jesse’s expression in the last photo above. He was very excited to finally have a fish!
Trey got on a hot streak for a while and reeled in fish after fish after fish!
Then Mama got on a hot streak and reeled in so many fish that Daddy started pouting! Of course, since I was using Jesse’s pole, he claimed all my fish for himself:-)
We all had a great time at the fishing rodeo! And when we left we were tired, burnt, very dirty, and happy:-)
God is good! ALL the TIME!
Christy
