History in my fourth grade class covers the discovery of America, the colonists coming here searching for religious freedom, our founding fathers fight for our independence, forming a new nation, and the struggles and triumphs that our country has endured since. During the last several weeks I have lead my students through the War for Independence and the formation of our country, we have discussed Veteran’s Day and why we should be eternally grateful for all of our servicemen, and we went to see Let Freedom Ring, a musical celebration of our country’s history. I have been immersed in the struggle that our forefathers went through and I am extremely thankful for all those who fought to make our country free and for everyone who continues to fight to maintain our freedom. Among other things, I am thankful for my freedom of religion, my freedom of speech, my freedom to bear arms, my freedom to go where I want, my freedom hold the job that I wish, and my freedom to teach my children and my students Biblical truths each and every day. Freedom is not free, and I am so very thankful that I am able to enjoy the freedoms that so many, on the behalf of our nation, have fought for.
There ain’t no doubt I love this land….God Bless the U.S.A.!!!!
